This is why we offer intensive courses that combine golf and Business English for example.
The golf is a pre text for learning English. Whilst being fun there is a practical application for the language. This means far more repetition and reinforcing of words and grammar, than could ever be endured in a class room environment.
Fundamental to learning is enduring motivation. If a person loses enthusiasm for something that has suddenly become boring, then it is less likely the person will be much good at the subject.
We make it fun, not because we are running a circus, but because as a teaching strategy, it pays to keep people interested AND to remind them continually why they are learning in the first place.
